90 or 91 reggae song
There is an old school reggae song from the early 90s I believe. I hard it back in 91 then again in a club a few years later and I have been trying to find it ever since with no luck. The chorus was something like"
Girl if you love me
please let me know
if you no love me
let me go on
Something like that! Can any of you help me if you think you know the song name or artist?
Thanks

90 or 91 reggae song
The song you're looking for has the lyrics below...

If you love me, please let me know because it hurts to love
when you have to go. Take care of me, don't go away
because if you love me, you will stay.
I love you and don't you know why?
You've got me when you said hi.

Part of the lyrics were used in 'Mr. Me Too'

Clipse featuring Pharrell Williams - Mr. Me Too

"Woman if you love me, please let me know/Tie rags round your neck and learn the sets we throw."

90 or 91 reggae song
I'm kind of a reggae dancehall fan myself. I don't claim to know a lot, but I do recognize some the "beats from the rhymes".

If you haven't found the song yet, I believe the song you are looking for is called, "Burrup" by Nardo Ranks.

Check out the lyrics I found on this website: http://www.justsomelyrics.com/1975965/Nardo-Ranks-Burrup-Lyrics

I'd say its right on the button. :) Amazon.com it if you must have the CD--I'm almost pretty sure they have it.

I used to have this song on a mix-tape that I scored at the local "swap meet". That tape is long gone, but that tape had some fond memories! ;)

Darlis:

I finally joined this website in order to fufill my quest to find the names and artists of 90's R & B hits. When I saw your posting, I was kind of curious. I used to be HEAVILY into Dancehall Reggae (and also into Reggae/Hawaiian/Jawaiian Reggae/Ska music). Glad I could help! It is an awesome song especially when its mixed in just right with other reggae jams! Maybe I should also look into this website to find some of my favorite Dancehall Reggae hits that regretfully have bit the dust (tapes don't last).
