Need help with one hit wonder from 70s ?
Song has a classical score with a tenor or rich deeper voice
" If I could sail a ship upon the sea" may be the first lyrics
I'm thinking it was in the 70s. This song didn't fit in at that
time but was played on the radio quite a bit in that era.
I was thinking maybe a Canadian singing the song?
Heard the song on pop & rock stations. May have been a crossover

not really . song has strings then a harp. I'm in a trivia contest and this song is number ten of 12. if you go to www.wdkmfm.com it is between bohemian rhapsody and driving my life, eddie rabbitt. It is in the montage 3

The music clip reminds me of 'John Denver - Calypso'

Dan couldn't open the file to listen to the tune. I was thinking about a song that had a Robert Goulet type
tenor that just didn't fit in with the songs on the radio at the
time (70s). Similiar to bryan macgregor doing Americans or Lorne Greene doing Ringo. Then again is what you heard on the montage ring any bells such as that. I'm thinking it has something to do with a ship on the sea or possibly "if i could
sail across the sea" something in that order. Thanks for your time effort.

Sounds like Calypso to me and it's about sailing too.

Might be worth trying 'The Last Farewell' by Roger Whittaker, a hit in 1975. Kinda fits your description.
