Where can I find it?
There was a group called Windjammer out in the early 80's I think and they recorded a song titled STAY. Somebody walked off with my 45 of this song and I just have to find another one. I don't care if it is on lp, cd or tape. The lyrics:
Look at me now,
I'm wondering how,
your concept of love came to be
Holding me tightly,
stroking me lightly,
oh oh oh oh, this is love
Love thoughts are gentle,
seem so sentimental
about the little things that I do
And you're okay
In every way
I hope you'll stay
With me

Thanks again, I found a lot of releases by Windjammer, but since I had the 45 I have no idea which album the song I am looking for would be on. Do you know how I can find out prior to ordering to make sure I order the right one?

Here is Windjammer's web site...

May I suggest you email the band with your question and lyrics (just incase the song title is not "Stay")

Okay Dan, still need help. I contacted Windjammer from the website. They responded advising me that there was another band by the name Windjammer out of New Orleans in the 80's. So I don't know where to look to find out about this Windjammer. I am positive the name of the song is Stay and the group was on MCA label in the 80's.

Ok, I have figured out this problem. Windjammer put out 3 albums. The first album was titled "Windjammer". The second album was titled "II" and the third album was titled "III".

{A debut single 'Stay' sold well around New Orleans before the group were signed by MCA in 1982.}

Their first album was released in 1983 so this must mean that "Stay" must be on the first album self titled "WindJammer"

Looking at www.gemm.com, all 3 albums are for sale. Windjammer II has "Stay part 2" on it.

WindJammer self titled (Album #1):

You might find these for sale on Ebay too.

Albums:

Windjammer (MCA Records 1983)

Windjammer II (MCA Records 1984)

Windjammer III (MCA Records 1985)

Formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A.

Windjammer comprised of:

Kevin McLin (guitar / producer)

Roy Paul Joseph (guitar)

Chris Severin (bass)

Darrell Winchester (drums)

Carl Dennis (lead vocals)

and Fred McCray (keyboards).

Windjammer hail from New Orleans.

During 1977, Kevin McLin broke into a hotel and gave Tito Jackson, of The Jacksons, a Windjammer demo tape while riding an escalator.

Two years later Jacksons' father and manager Joe Jackson signed them to his management company.

A debut single 'Stay' sold well around New Orleans before the group were signed by MCA in 1982.

In 1983, their first album 'Windjammer' was released.

In 1984, 'Windjammer II' featured 'Tossing And Turning', a UK Top 20 hit.

The song was remixed and re-released by Debut Records in 1989.

In 1985, a final album for MCA was released, entitled (you've guessed it!), 'Windjammer III'.

The group have adopted a low profile since that release.

Windjammer

Label: MCA
New Orleans based Windjammer released 3 albums on MCA between 1983 and 1985. I'm especially looking for tracks from the second one. "II" includes the slightly mellow UK Top20 hit "Tossing and Turning" plus some very fine ballads. A compilation please!

Boogie Friday Bonus!

Double your dancing pleasure today seeing as I've been a bit quiet this week. I had a hard time deciding between this and the George McCrae today and almost tossed a coin over it. Then I thought: why not just post both of 'em?

This is about as smooth as dance music gets without completely floating away, I get the feeling Windjammer wore a lot of Jeri Curl in their hair because they sure were some slick sounding blokes. Even with the might of Google at my disposal I know very little about them except that they were from New Orleans and were managed by The Jacksons' father Joe (I wonder if he beat them up too). They released three albums in the early 80s with the imaginative titles "Windjammer" 'Windjammer II" and - yes! - "Windjammer III" Their only hit was "Tossing and Turning" from album number two (sorry, album number II) which made the UK Top 10 in 1984 and they seem to have done bugger all else since. But if you're going to be a one-hit wonder it should be with a tune as sweet as this.

Yes, I believe this will help a lot. I've seen the albums but didn't know which was the right one. I would also like to hear Stay part II. Thanks a lot also for the Zapp and Roger Anthology. I went out and bought it this weekend and it was the exact song I was looking for. I LOVE THIS WEBSITE.
