I think the song is called Sunrise
Desperately trying to find a song called "Sunrise" released in the late 70's or early 80's. Some of the lyrics are Sunrise, wake up everyone, light up one more moment on this earth. A new day has begun. And if for today, sunshine or rain, isn't it beautiful. don't blow it away, 'cause tomorrow doesn't come forever. Sunrise, start a brand new day, there ain't no tomorrow without you.

Unsure about the order of the words, but I hope this is enough to trigger the artist of this song and the correct title. Thanks.

Dan, you are on key. We are both from Indianapolis, so thanks for doing the homework to match us up. Now we at least have a starting point. I'm going to ask some local DJ's here in Indianapolis. Once again thank you for all of your help.

Wow! on 45? Do you have anything to play the 45 on? I went on Youtube and I'm so glad that someone posted the song there. It brought back memories hearing the song. Now, I can listen to it over and over.

Only for One Night
Brenda Russell recorded it in 1979 on her self titled album. I think she later re-released it on her "Piano in the Dark" album, which sounds slightly more modern than the original. Goto AllMusic.com to hear the original release. It sounds like the way I remember it sounding back then. She is the only female so far that has made it. Go Naptown!!
