Seventies soft rock song
It's laughable how little I have to go on, but I'm just hoping this rings a bell with someone. My problem is that the only lyric I can remember is "I love you"... yeah, I know. But this is what it sounds like...

It's a soft-voiced single male singing "I love you" in a rising crescendo on each word and drawing out the syllables ("IIIIIIIIII looooooove yooooooooooou") and it's very catchy and soft and pretty. Pretty sure it's kind of uptempo, but not like disco or anything.

It sounds kind of like Air Supply or Todd Rundgren or Firefall but it doesn't seem to be any of them. I know it was a pretty popular song because I remember it vividly from the radio when I was a kid.

Huge longshot, but... anyone?

Paul McCartney - Silly Love Songs

Note: John Lennon called Paul's music 'Silly Love Songs' so Paul wrote this song.

That's IT! "Silly Love Songs." Thank you SO much. That's amazing you got that from what little I had. Try Googling "I love you" + lyrics sometime...
