Who was it? Futuristic Rock song from late 80's
Okay, its probably a one-hit-wonder song. I don't remember any vocals, probably an instrumental. It had a futuristic rock sound and reminded me of Alan Parsons and Pink Floyd at the same time but wasn't either band. I remember guitar and keyboard in the song which gave it a very imaginative sound. I remember they used to play it all the time while it was a hit on rock stations around 1987 or so. It would have made a great movie song. Ive searched all the billboard charts but just can't put my finger on it. It could have had vocals but the music was the highlight. By the way it wasn't Vai or Satrioni but the name of the "band" was a guys name. HELP?

Whitesnake - Still Of The Night {1987}

There's a long instrumental in the middle of the song. Fast forward to 2:00

Here's the video...

Hello, its not Whitesnake, although Ive listened to 'em alot. It was more rock instead of hard rock. Also the artist was a guys name not a band name. Also it was someone who popped out of nowhere and then was gone after one album. Haven't heard of him since. Thanks for trying and if you can help please do :)

How sure are you that it was an instrumental? Also, could it be a song from the early 80's?

Who was it? Futuristic Rock song from late 80's
Hello again, yes it is from the late 80's I remember I lived in Plano Tx at the time and heard it on the radio all the time then. It was played on the AOR stations as it wasn't pop or metal. If it had vocals they were sparse or not up front. 1987 is the year I think I heard it the most. It was such a flash in the pan I think most rockers have forgotten the artist and the song. I remember knowing the guys name and even looked at the CD in the store (and almost bought it). Ive thought about this for years but im not giving up. Thanks Dan for trying to help :)

Okay, it bugged me so bad I got on Ebay and selected "Music" catorgory and in the search bar I entered only "1987" and after endless browsing I stumbled across "PETE BARDENS - SEEN ONE EARTH". I feel better now :)

Hi Dan,

I believe it was "In Dreams". When I get it I will know for sure. I didn't realize he was with Camel and thought he was a one hit guy but it looks like he did alot of other work too. I will be checking out some other stuff also.
